ADP is looking for a Senior Business Controller.
This is a key role working closely with the Southern Europe (Italy and Iberia) business to provide financial analysis and commercial support to contribute to the Southern Europe Business success, ca. 130M revenues.
In this role you will be based in Milan, report to the Regional CFO, and manage a controlling specialist. The role is a key Finance Business Partner role to support the organization in delivering all aspects of financial planning, analysis, and business support to ensure that the Business achieves and exceeds its objectives while following the Global strategy.
The Senior Business Controller will be a trusted partner and growth-oriented, thought leader, working closely with the CFO and Business to make decisions, drive initiatives, and run the business. He or she will challenge the status quo, provide deep, data-driven insights, and be a key player in formulating and executing the strategy of the business unit.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Business Partner with Sales and other teams/stakeholders involved in business opportunities by providing financial and commercial support, balancing risks and leveraging opportunities.Provide the business with commercial and financial expertise in all areas where required, particularly with pricing strategy, investment appraisal, product and client profitability, and deal structures.Provide in-depth and consistent Business Insight through analytical reporting/dashboards, leveraging BI tools, while retrieving data from multiple sources, monitoring KPIs (retention, productivity, etc.) to support decision-making processes on investment, risk mitigation, and corrective actions.Ensure consistency and quality of the business insight across the region.Develop and maintain robust mid to long-term strategic planning models to assist the leadership team in making commercial decisions.Manage and coordinate key processes such as forecasts, operating plans, periodic business reviews, and strategic planning, acting on behalf of the CFO in some of them.Challenge the status quo and drive continuous improvement in the Finance department, partnering with the BPI function in the rest of the organization.Manage, coordinate, and support the professional development of the controlling specialist.Partner with the Head of Accounting and ensure a close working relationship is maintained with the Accounting team.SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge required: English and Italian Fluent – read, spoken, understood, and written.Spanish Professional Working – not required but preferred.Excellent IT skills (Excel, PowerPoint). Power BI development experience is definitely a plus.Strong experience with financial systems, including creating customized reports within FP&A reporting tools (Oracle and Hyperion experience preferred).Skills required: Excellent analytical, strong financial acumen and interpretive skills; self-starter, intellectual rigor, and an ability to think innovatively and creatively.A natural inclination to look for solutions, methodically evaluate a situation, provide positive recommendations, and drive issues through to successful conclusion/resolution.An ability to act as a change agent, driving a culture of transformation and improvement through a large, diversified organization and to see the bigger picture.Adept at forging strong relationships within a matrix environment; collaborative work style.An unquestionable ability to deliver results under tight deadlines and time pressures; self-confident and outgoing, with a straightforward personality. Professional and personal integrity beyond reproach.Highly ambitious with a burning desire for success and continued future progression.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Degree educated with strong academics, with emphasis in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.At least 10 years of work experience.Prior experience in similar roles, in FP&A or Business Controlling, partnering especially with strong Sales functions.Prior experience in working and influencing in a matrix organization.
