WSP is thrilled to offer an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Biodiversity & Ecosystem Services Specialist to join our Sustainability Services team on a full-time basis in either Turin or Milan. As part of our multidisciplinary, cross-national team, you'll play a key role in assessing, reviewing, and ensuring compliance for impactful projects across the energy, mining, industrial, and infrastructure sectors.

WHAT DOES THIS ROLE INCLUDE?Be responsible for the biological components of Environmental, Social, and Health Impact Assessments (ESHIA), with particular attention to biodiversity and environmental impact management (e.g., desktop studies, planning and execution of the baseline, integration with other ESHIA components, report writing, etc.).Act as a senior environmental expert for biodiversity in Environmental and Social Due Diligence (ESDD) and post-funding monitoring projects, including risk and impact identification, review of compliance with project commitments and applicable international requirements, and support in the reporting phase.Coordinate work and organisational meetings, with internal staff and/or external stakeholders.Support the project team in the development of technical reports with particular attention to biodiversity-related components.Senior review of reports and supervision of junior colleagues.REQUIREMENTS WE REQUIRE:Degree in Natural Sciences, Biology, or Forestry Sciences.Competence in GIS and geoprocessing tools.At least 15 years of previous professional experience in the field of biodiversity impact assessment, monitoring, and management plans (Biodiversity Management Plan - BMP, Biodiversity Action Plan - BAP, Critical Habitat Assessment - CHA, etc.).Complete knowledge of Italian regulations and international environmental standards (IFC/EBRD/OECD/Equator Principles) and their implications, with particular attention to IFC PS6 requirements.Familiarity with the methodology, procedures, and regulations for environmental impact assessment.Excellent knowledge of English (both written and spoken) is essential.Documented knowledge and the ability to work in other languages (French, Spanish) are highly desired and constitute an advantage.WHAT YOU WILL LIKE ABOUT US:A work environment inspired by diversity, driven by inclusion.Our flexible work policy - We recognize the importance of work-life balance and encourage you to find your own.WSP is concerned with making the world around us better, including the environment, transportation infrastructure, buildings, and land use.Excellent career prospects.
