Tetra Pak Development Technology organization seeks to achieve value-driven innovation by defining new concepts, developing new technologies and engaging strong partnerships.
Within Sealing Solutions Materials Engineering, the Sealing Technology team is now looking for a Development Engineer who can help develop Sealing Components supporting our core technologies for package sealing in Tetra Pak filling machines.
You will be part of a team of technology experts working to design and develop the next generation of Sealing Components, to enable the sealing function of Tetra Pak packaging material in our filling machines.
As a Development Engineer, you will be responsible to design and develop innovative solutions based on technical specifications in the relevant competence area.
You will also be responsible to secure that the released Sealing Components are available, with expected quality level, over the full lifecycle.
This is a permanent position based in Modena (Italy).
You may be required to travel up to 20% of your time.
What you will doAct as a Development Engineer within Sealing Technology team, participating in technology development projects, Issue resolution activities and product lifecycle management.
Be the responsible for Sealing components design, defining the technical attributes of the solution to enable a reliable sealing process, understanding the interactions with Tetra Pak packaging material, filling equipment and customer operations.
Propose and drive Early Innovation activities, as well as technology scouting activities.
Interact with key suppliers to enable the manufacturing of Sealing components according to specifications.
Interact with broad range of stakeholders and manage communication related to your activities.
We believe you haveAbility to innovate and improve Sealing Technologies by applying?advanced engineering principles?and?physical laws?to develop new solutions.
Proficiency in defining verification requirements, creating test methods and executing testing activities for components, sub-systems and full integrated system.
Interest and experience with hands-on verification activities.
Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and the use of statistical tools to evaluate results.
Strong ability to identify the relevant physical attributes that define an industrial process, with particular focus on material properties, machine/material interactions and influence of the control systems.
Experience with FEM simulations (thermal, fluid, structural, modal), with ability to steer VE model definition and interpreting results to drive design decisions.
Good knowledge of laboratory instrumentation for Mechanical and Thermal measurements (load cells, thermal camera, thermocouples, ..).
Ability to develop specific software / scripts for instrumentation control and test results post-processing It is considered a plus:Demonstrated experience with FEM modal analysis simulation with Abaqus in the ultrasonic frequency range, including capabilities on simulation results verification using dedicated tools (laser interferometer, data post-processing, etc.).
Experience with PTC Creo or equivalent CAD, with 2D/3D mechanical design and assembly drawings, with knowledge of major fabrication techniques.
Demonstrated?problem-solving capabilities, including experience with?FMEA and ability to conduct root cause analysis for process failure.
Experience on integration of components in Industrial environment Demonstrated experience with automatic machines for packaging technology The successful candidate has a Master of Science degree or higher education in Mechanical Engineering, Physics or equivalent.
Since your work will involve multi-countries collaborations, it is important that you have good team-playing skills, very good presentation skills, and have very good written and spoken English.
You also need to have a strong personal drive and be independent in the exploration of the given task, taking initiatives and proposing solutions and actions.
