Your Role
We are seeking a dynamic "Seafreight Trade Manager (f/m/d) Italy" to spearhead growth in both imports and exports. If you are a strategic thinker with a passion for logistics and strong leadership skills, this role is ideal for you. You will lead our seafreight strategy, ensuring smooth execution and fostering collaboration across teams. We are looking for a creative individual who thinks outside the box and is genuinely interested in technology and innovative approaches to trade management.
You will
Drive and manage the overall profitability for import and export as well as gross profit. Achieve volume growth as per the budget, ensuring targets are met and exceeded. Implement and oversee carrier policies within the country to optimize operations. Develop and execute seafreight pricing strategies, focusing on mark-ups to enhance profitability. Ensure quick turnaround times for rates and quotations to maintain competitive edge. Maintain and monitor Service Level Agreements for buying rates in systems, and ensure accurate rate filing for carrier and subcontractors (Intermodal/Customs). Provide robust support to the sales team through joint visits, training, and managing the sales pipeline via Salesforce with the regional sales team. Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing seafreight team, manage the budget at GP import and export levels, participate in carrier meetings, keep the team updated on market trends, and drive the digital evolution of seafreight products. What you bring
Successful track record in sales and sea freight trade management, at least 5 years of experience in freight forwarding or similar environments. Proven ability to increase profitability and monitor financial performance. Very good understanding of the logistics market in Italy as well as carrier policies and agreements. Expertise in creating solid and competitive seafreight pricing strategies. Excellent process and time management skills. Leadership skills and proven track of record in mentoring team members in sales and trade management. Fluent in Italian language (C1) and good English language skills (B2).
