Scientist/Senior Scientist positions – Climate-Economy Modelers The CMCC Foundation is a scientific research center focusing on climate change and its interactions with the environment, society, business, and policymakers. The incumbents will join an international and interdisciplinary team to contribute to developing integrated assessment models, including climate-energy-economy models, energy system models, and macro-economic models.
Modeling experience of at least 5 years using modeling languages (GAMS, Julia, JUMP) and fluency in programming languages such as Python or R
PhD in economics, applied mathematics, engineering, physics, or related fields to integrated assessment models and coupled climate-economy modeling
Fluency in English (Italian not required), good presentation, and writing skills
Willingness to travel to project meetings and conferences
Ability to work in an interdisciplinary and diverse environment committed to high-quality research
Appointment period initially 24 months starting from September 2024 (with flexibility) renewable for two additional years subject to a positive evaluation
Tenure can be granted from 2 years after being appointed as a scientist or senior scientist
Gross salary based on qualification and working experience competitive with major research centers in Europe
Welfare package for a minimum 12-month contract
Flexible working hours as per internal policies

Belonging to legally protected categories (ex L. 68/99) will constitute a preferential condition.
