**Your 'day to day'**:
As our next Scientist Method Development you will use scientific/engineering knowledge to perform analyses using appropriate technologies and conduct research, development, and project activities of moderate scope and medium to high complexity which may be a portion of a broader project. This also includes development, validation and implementation of new physical methods in order to support the Reduce Risk Products (RRPs).
**Your Responsibilities**:
- Develop and validate methods according to internal guidelines. Ensure that staff executes testing protocoles as defined in the related validation protocoles and report the results in appropriate validation/development reports;
- Contribute to the development of project scopes, schedule & estimates and follow planning related to his/her projects plans, including deadlines and resource requirements. Inform about any deviation from initial planning and update it accordingly in agreement with main stakeholders;
- Develop and recommend testing solutions/methods, designs and/or design improvements. Coordinate activities/tasks of technicians or less experienced professionals and contractors;
- Lead development and validation of methods in collaboration with external labs. Ensure review of testing protocoles as defined in the related validation protocoles and report the results in appropriate validation/development reports;
- Advice as technical subjet authority for certain technical aspects of projects/processes within the group;
- Adhere and follow to all EHS rules, policies and procedures. Inform about any deviation and implement corrective actions as per internal guidelines;
- Carry out duties in compliance with RRP QMS, ISO 17025 regulations, and the respective PMI procedures.
**Who we're looking for**:
- Degree in Mechanical/Materials Engineering or equivalent skills through demonstrated experience (PhD ,Master level or equivalent);
- At least 5 years of laboratory experience in the tobacco or other industry;
- At least 3 years of experience in the area of physical/chemical methods development with good level of know-how in various techniques;
- At least 2 years of experience in laboratory accredited environment (ISO 17025);
- English and Italian fluency, any other language is considered a plus.
