We are looking for a Scientific Risk Assessment Assistant in the area of Food Enzymes.

Assist the enzyme team to draft scientific opinions;
Support the review of scientific information related to the activity, the identification of data gaps, development of contract specifications and/or performance of literature search in order to fill these data gaps, the collection, collation and analysis of scientific evidence;
Participate and support the organisation of scientific meetings (e.g. preparation of meeting agendas, notes reflecting the discussions, presentations of important points with action follow up proposals);
Depending on the workload and progress of the work, the appointed person may also be requested to give general support to the activity of the FIP Unit.

Excellent knowledge of English (at least B2);
Background in Biochemistry, Food chemistry, Food technology;
Data management. Experience in generating, collecting, and collating evidence from various sources;
Experience in prioritising and organising, working with others, dealing with tight timelines;
Result oriented, problem-solving skills focusing on stakeholder needs;
Previous experience at EFSA and knowledge of Food Law would be a plus.
Assignment: initial contract of 4 months, with possibility of extensions.
Salary: approx €2145 per month before taxes.
Work modalities: office work is required on at least 2 days per week. Remote work is possible within 2 hours from EFSA's premises in Parma, Italy, for the remaining days.
