Necessary requirements Previous experience in logistics, autonomy in in managing spaces, equipment, people The SAR Operations Logistician coordinates and collaborates with the members of the SAR Team, and in particular with the Medical Staff and the crew.
He/she is responsible for the good efficiency of the reception facilities and effectiveness of the processes related to SAR operations for all phases of work.
The SAR Operations Logistician reports directly to the SAR Mission Coordinator and the Medical Coordinator on board.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The SAR Operations Logistician will be involved in: OPERATIONAL ACTIVITIES Organizes the ship for pre-departure and post-arrival phases; Monitors and archive documentation; Prepares the reception area in anticipation of rescue operations; Collaborates in launching the RHIBs during rescue operations; Provides emergency assistance during rescue (launch/recovery of emergency flotation systems, urgent boarding, etc…); Collaborates during the boarding operations of the rescued people; Deals with the operational management of the reception and shelter areas for rescued people, including cleaning, hygiene and waste; In collaboration with the entire SAR Team, deals with the management of the rescued people once on board; Manages the pre-disembarkation preparation of the rescued people; Is available to carry out other tasks according to the activities derived from SAR operations; Contributes to the professional training of Team members.
MANAGEMENT ACTIVITIES Collaborates with the logistics department (SAR Logistic Officer, Logistics Desk and Warehouse) for the entire supply chain and project's needs; Manages the reception and storage of materials on board; Manages the needs of the staff on board, acting as a point of reference for the needs of the staff and crew; Monitors auxiliary services, ensuring they meet quality and hygiene standards; Collaborates with maritime agencies, authorities and suppliers, maintaining effective communication and coordination.
