Job Location: ChicagoWant to make an impact?The Sanitation Technician will plan, direct, and control daily and nightly cleaning activities to meet established standards. Position is responsible for following proper procedures to clean industrialized equipment, ensure adherence to food safety standards and assist in minimizing down time.
The work schedule is: 10:00 p.m. – 6:15 a.m. Ways you will make a differenceEnsure plant sanitation procedures, programs and regulatory requirements, ensuring all plant equipment is clean and safe for productionStrictly adhere to sanitation, GMP, and safety standardsPerform cleaning and sanitation activities according to Master Sanitation Schedules for the facility interior and exterior and ensure superior sanitation of equipment and surrounding areasMentor and motivate Janitors and Balers on shift, providing training and development to optimize performance and personal growthParticipate in regular meetings with plant management to discuss quality and sanitation improvementsFacilitate problem resolution related to sanitation and sanitation quality issuesFollow up on work orders with the appropriate associates to ensure expeditious performance of the requested workMonitor the Chemical storage and dispense the appropriate concentration for cleaning activitiesReceive and track sanitary and chemical inventoryMonitor sanitation team in the use of chemicals and proper safety procedures, checking inventory levels of chemicals and ordering supplies when necessaryUnderstand and demonstrate the Company's core values and operating principlesAdhere to all company policies and proceduresPerform other duties as assigned to support Ferrara Candy Company business objectivesSkills that will make you successfulKnowledge of cleaning chemicalsBasic knowledge of HACCP, BRC food safety and GMP principlesSense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines; self-directedAbility to plan, organize and prioritize; ability to work under pressure and meet established goals and objectivesDemonstrated knowledge of efficient and safe manufacturing operations to include product and associate safety, product quality (success rates), throughput delivery and cost control (minimizing downtime and waste, optimizing yield)Basic computer skills and proficiency preferredExperiences that will support your successMinimum of 1 year of sanitation experience in the food-industry preferred
