Job Location: BellwoodWant to make an impact?***This is a DAY Shift position on a 2/2/3, 12-hour shift structure. 4:45am-5:15pm 2 days ON, 2 days OFF, 3 days ON, etc. Every other weekend OFF (Sat/Sun/Mon).
The individual in this position supervises the organization of custodial activities throughout the plant and warehouse. The work requires knowledge of the practices and materials of the service and supervisory techniques, personnel policies, and procedures.
Ways you will make a differenceAdhering to high sanitation, GMP, safety standards.Be familiar with cleaning chemicals and techniques, as well as the Master Sanitation Schedule to assure compliance with our programs and regulatory guidelines.Train janitorial staff in job skills, proper cleaning methods, and use of equipment, safety practices, and work regulations.Conduct inspections and investigate complaints of the building to check for cleanliness, and advise staff on methods of correction.Demonstrate proficient communication and ability to work in a team environment under short timelines.Monitor inventory of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment; communicate with Sanitation Supervisor when replenishment is needed.Report all observed safety hazards.Conduct oneself in a professional manner, maintain continuity between shifts, and contribute to an overall team effort.Adhere to all company policies and procedures.Evaluate and verify staff performance through the review of complete work assignments and work techniques.Participate in departmental activities such as meetings and administrative obligations (phone, e-mail).Maintain accurate, thorough records.Act as back-up to Lead Sanitation Operator in his/her absence.Skills that will make you successfulMinimum of 3 – 5 years of food-industry experience preferred.Good creative, problem-solving, and organizational skills, as well as good communication skills.Be at work as scheduled and in a timely manner.Ability to work independently while supporting overall team objectives.Thrive in a fast-paced, multi-project/task environment and be comfortable working with people of varying disciplines and levels.Computer proficiency in electronic communication (Microsoft Office preferred).Proficient in time management.Able to work in a team environment.Ensure compliance with AIB, SQF, and other relevant standards.EQUAL OPPORTUNITYWe are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
