Job Summary: The Sale Support Representative provides administrative support and assistance for activities within the local Sales offices and for Sales Representatives as assigned. This position provides customer support for sales-related issues and administers customer-focused sales programs. Additionally, this position provides both marketing and sales assistance to distributors and direct customers.
Job Duties: Serve as primary contact for sales representatives and customers with sales related issues in the absence of a sales representative. Respond to requests from internal or external customers.Administer evaluation program, including tracking and completing order closure for evaluations initiated by the Sales team and performing other essential duties as required for the successful operation of the program.Administer sales programs as assigned and perform essential duties as required for the successful operation of these programs. May assist in new sales program development.Perform basic administrative work to support the Sales team including preparation of quotes, evaluations, no-charge samples, and consignments.Assist with seminar and/or trade show preparation and registration as assigned.Responsible for accurate reconciliation on a monthly basis of consignment cabinet.Maintain and update databases as assigned to assist sales and marketing efforts. May train Sales Representatives on system functions.Participate in training and teams related to product lines and customer service as required.Assist in use of the ERP to generate sales reports for sales territories and/or accounts as needed by sales reps.Manage seminar, trade show, and distributor meeting activities with the Sales Representatives and coordinate logistics.Assist in the development and training of new systems processes within the Sales department for internal and external customers.Focus on continual process improvement initiatives for the Sales department.Qualifications: Education / Experience: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in science, business, marketing, a related field or equivalent work experience.Minimum of 2 years of experience in customer service, sales support or lab environment experience.Advanced course work and/or seminars in marketing, sales, finance, or business analysis desired.Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: Strong computer skills, including e-mail, spreadsheets, word processing and database applications.Ability to multitask effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Ability to work well with others in a team environment.Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Establish and follow SOPs (standard operating procedures) as expected for the role.Ability to analyze and problem solve.Ability to represent the department on functional teams (i.e., ERP system).Has good customer knowledge with the ability to initiate outbound calls.Ability to perform backup administrative tasks for department manager.Has expertise in assigned systems as applicable.
