Hauptaufgaben Incumbent operates a cash register scanning system and scale and/or stand-alone register system to record unit prices, proper amounts and accounts (i.e., grocery, meat, produce, sensitive and other selective items), purchase totals, surcharge and change.
Individually inputs item codes and/or prices when items do not properly scan.
Totals purchases and collects, validates, and processes payment including cash, checks, debit and credit card transactions, electronic benefits transfer transactions, and coupons.
Makes correct change and/or provides cash back to the customer depending on the nature of the payment transaction.
Responds courteously to patron questions concerning order processing, prices, stock locations, quality and availability of items.
At the end of the shift, turns in cash and negotiable instruments in accordance with store policy and cleans the check stand and surrounding area.
May be required to count cash and negotiable instruments and to prepare an accountability report.
In the event of excessive average/shortage in till, may be required to count till at start and end of shift.

Based on store policy, and prior to purchase, may be required to check identification card of patron to ensure he/she is an authorized user.
He/she responds to questions and/or issues raised by customers using a knowledge of the specific commissary store and established procedures.
Seeks management assistance in situations which are not routine.
Provides assistance in arriving at solutions according to established store policy.
Performs other related duties as required such as pricing, stocking merchandise and cleaning immediate work area.
Replenishes depleted shelf and counter stocks; makes in item prices to conform to revised price lists.
Ensures prices on shelf labels agree with and reflect current prices in commissary price lookup file and shelf label file.
Verifies prices of items stocked by vendors and commissary personnel.
Places tags on plastic and hangs tags on shelf, making sure to match item correctly; pulls old tags.
Participates in in recurring and special store inventories by counting, weighing, listing, and computing total quantities and costs.
May, on occasion, perform teller duties, face and front merchandise, perform NIS counts, queue checkout lines, return merchandise to proper location, and clean up minor spills.
Tour of duty will be 20 hours per week, as follows: Mon and Tue OFF, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat, and Sun 1530-1930.
Qualifikationsanforderungen MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must meet the qualification requirements in the "Qualification Standards" published by U.S Office of Personnel Management, as summarized below.
EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have a minimum of 6 months of General Experience.
General Experience is progressively responsible clerical, office or other work which indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.
OR SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Education may be substituted for experience in accordance with the "Qualification Standards" published by U.S Office of Personnel Management.
