JOB TITLE: Sales ManagerDEPARTMENT: Sales & MarketingREPORTS TO: Director of Sales & Marketing Located on the private island of San Clemente, only ten minutes from Piazza San Marco, our hotel is part of the Kempinski brand and is a proud member of the Leading Hotels of the World. The San Clemente Palace Kempinski, immersed in a centuries-old park, offers 196 rooms and suites, three restaurants, three bars, an outdoor swimming pool, a tennis court, a golf training course, a modern spa and a conference centre. The general scope of the Sales Manager is to achieve hotel targets by optimizing revenues through an assigned account base, as well as prospecting new clients in assigned markets. Assigned markets may change according to hotel needs. The key measurement of performance will be performance versus the Revenue goals. We select Candidates with previous experience in the same position for at least five years, in high-end and luxury segment hotels; fluent knowledge of Italian and at least two foreign languages (English one of the two) with good expertise in International and National Markets; well introduced in the Italian and Venetian Market; with a degree in Tourism Management or Business Administration; good knowledge of Opera PMS. OVERALL OBJECTIVES The job of Sales Manager is executed satisfactorily when: 1. The Hotel achieves its Financial Objectives. 2. The Sales Team that the person works with achieves their Revenue Objectives. 3. The person achieves their Personal Objectives. 4. The TTTT is carried out to the satisfaction of both the Director of Sales / Director of Sales & Marketing. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES i. Responsible for key account management on an assigned account base or geographic area, ensuring revenue maximization, achievement of personal targets and increasing fair market share versus competitor set. ii. Responsible for prospecting new accounts. iii. Responsible for all segments of assigned geographical markets, which may include, but not be exclusively limited to European markets. iv. Conduct site inspections. v. Adhere to the Corporate SOP's. vi. Follow up of tentative bookings in the assigned markets. vii. Detailed knowledge of competitor set. viii. Detailed knowledge of all services provided by the Hotel and all relevant facts and figures of hotel. ix. Responsible for timely contracting from the client base responsible for. x. SMART contracting to ensure optimum yielding during annual rate negotiations. xi. Attend trade shows, sales blitz, workshops, etc. in the assigned markets. xii. Assist the Director of Sales / Director of Sales in defining an annual sales action plan and execute set actions accordingly. xiii. Assist the Director of Sales / Director of Sales with the preparation of the annual budget by providing statistics and forecasts of account productions. xiv. Execute sales actions within set cost budget structure. xv. Document all sales actions in SFA (S&C). xvi. Update OPERA contact database at all times. xvii. Cross sell other Kempinski Hotels xviii.Understand, and follow the Company Sales Vision. xix. Participation in Duty Manager rotation. xx. Understand and strictly adhere to the Rules & Regulations established in the Employees Handbook and the Hotel's policy on Fire, Hygiene, Health & Safety. xxi.
