You will serve as a SAFETY AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST in the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) of NAVAL FAC ENGR CMD EUROPE AFRICA CENTRAL, Department of the Navy (DON), Capodichino, Italy. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Providing technical expertise in general industry and construction safety and occupational health programs and advising command personnel in the application of policies and procedures, control methods, and industry best practices.Maintaining a high level of expertise in construction safety programs such as, but not limited to, confined space, fall protection, scaffolding, shoring, trenching and excavation, high voltage operations, construction safety, facilities inspections, hazardous materials, radiation, and respiratory protection programs.Consulting, coordinating, and maintaining liaison with other safety and occupational health personnel such as other site safety managers, industrial hygienists, and engineers to resolve complex environmental hazards and develop safety practices and procedures.Providing technical advice and guidance on the safety, design, and construction of equipment and facilities in order to incorporate 'design through prevention' concepts; ensure compliance with safety and occupational health standards; and integrate best practices.Assisting in the preparation of the budget for the Command Safety Program that includes, but is not limited to training, travel, personal protective equipment, various safety equipment, and other expenses related to the contractor safety program.NOTE: This information must be supported in your resume to be considered for the position.
