Job Summary The Route Sales Representative meets customer needs through up-selling/cross-selling and provides superior customer service by proactively managing all route responsibilities.
Reports to the District Manager.
Essential Functions: Solicit new customers and ensure a profitable product mix.
Participate in promotions, training, and audits.
Follow company policies regarding customer management and service.
Ensure customer loyalty and retention through outstanding service.
Safely operate a delivery vehicle and maintain cleanliness.
Handle customer payments and maintain route paperwork.
Ensure timely deliveries and maintain proper inventories.
Monitor competitive activity and keep service agreements current.
Accurately prepare route paperwork and follow check-in procedures.
Perform other tasks as directed by supervision.
Qualifications: Valid driver's license (CDL when applicable).
Clean driving record free of chargeable accidents and violations.
Minimum one year of safe driving experience.
Excellent customer service and route sales skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Ability to recognize colors, sizes, and types of products.
High School graduation or similar experience.
Travel Requirements: Daily travel by delivery vehicle within a designated route.
Typical Environmental Conditions: Operating vehicles on public roads and in customer locations.
Typical Physical Activity: Physical demands include sitting, driving, lifting up to 75 lbs, and moving carts up to 500 lbs.
