Mission: Risk Management work stream is responsible for implementing Hitachi Rail's Group Strategy and Framework for the identification, reporting and escalation of strategic, operational and compliance risks of Hitachi Rail's commercial opportunities.
This role will lead a range of specific risk oversight tasks across different areas, and build and maintain positive and open relationships stakeholders globally
Accountabilities will include but are not limited to: Manage project risk assessments (during bidding phase and execution)
Pre-bid phaseUnderstand Hitachi's bid pipeline and plan risk activities accordinglyDrive various departments' (Sales, Programme / Project Management, finance, engineering, Legal, procurement, Ops, etc.) contribution to develop a preliminary Risk Assessment of the tenderBid phase:Supported by the Bid Team and in collaboration with the Project Manager and the Commercial Manager, develop the Bid Risk Assessment, including and relevant mitigation actions identified by various departmentsEnsure risks are tracked in the global Hitachi Rail Risk management toolIssue bid risk assessment reportsContract Award/Handover/Execution:Update the tender risk profile where necessary and manage governance updates.Ensure the risk profile is part of handover activities and project kick-offPeriodically update and report the risk profile of assigned projects' portfolioContribute to Group Risk management reporting activities including ARCC quarterly reports
Skills/ Knowledge: Previous sales/bidding/commercial experienceKnowledge of tendering processes and practicesUnderstanding risk models and measures;Strong influencing skills to sure that appropriate but commercially aware action is taken in the business;Able to build and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve long term success;work as part of a cross-cultural team;Strong analytical ability, providing challenge to data received to ensure that reports produced are robust;Goes that "extra mile" and is a self-starter;Shows evidence of being comfortable working in fast paced or pressured environmentsMust be willing to travel to operating sites around the world;Education / Qualifications: Role relevant qualifications preferred, i.e. Degree or professional qualification in business, accounting, finance, engineering, risk or compliance related fields or equivalent experience;Languages: Fluent Knowledge of English (written & spoken)
