FCC is composed of around 30 researchers with complementary skills: transport, electrical, environmental and biomedical engineers, mathematicians, computer scientists and data scientists, urban and territorial planners.
FCC research focuses on 3 programs: Mobility and Logistics, Cities, Climate and Environment, Blockchain.
Within the Mobility and Logistics strand, research focuses on:
transport planning, transport modelling and optimisation (predictive models for mobility, traffic models, optimisation of logistics systems), development of ICT solutions for the mobility of the future, estimation of the environmental impacts of transport and fight against climate change.
The candidate will work on transport innovation projects (e.g.
autonomous and connected mobility, zero-emission mobility, urban air mobility, robotic logistics) dealing, for example, with:
transport planning (e.g.
from the urban scale of the SUMP to the regional scale of the RTP), development of transport optimization algorithms, development of decision support systems (DSS), transport macro-simulation models (e.g.
4-stage models), traffic micro-simulation and multi-agent simulation, estimation of transport emissions and consumption.
The work will be included in European projects with international partners and in contracts with public administrations and companies.
The candidate will be expected to continuously update himself/herself on the latest developments and trends in mobility innovations and actively participate in the preparation of project proposals and in the writing and publication of technical documents and scientific articles.
