Research Fellow in Surgical Robotics (Bioimpedance Sensing for High-Precision Surgical Applications) - (2400005W) WHO WE ARE At IIT we work enthusiastically to develop human-centered Science and Technology to tackle some of the most pressing societal challenges of our times and transfer these technologies to the production system and society.
Our Genoa headquarter is strictly inter-connected with our 11 centers around Italy and two outer-stations based in the US for a truly interdisciplinary experience.
YOUR TEAM The Biomedical Robotics Lab is the coordinator of the Horizion Europe project AIRCARE.
We are part of the Advanced Robotics Research Unit, directed by Prof Darwin Caldwell.
This large department focuses on an innovative, multidisciplinary approach to robot design and control, and the development of novel robotic components and technologies for applications in medical, surgical and rehabilitation robotics.
Come help shape the future of ENT cancer care!
This position is part of the Horizion Europe project AIRCARE.
This is an Innovation Action dedicated to the advancement of technologies for the diagnosis and treatment of upper aerodigestive tract (UADT) diseases.
The aim of the project is to assess these novel technologies through clinical trials, i.e., through tests involving human patients.
In this context, the Biomedical Robotics Lab of the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT) is seeking to appoint a highly motivated Research Fellow to support the development and deployment of novel bioimpedance sensing technologies for disease diagnosis and high-precision surgical treatment.
The selected candidate will join AIRCARE's consortium and work in a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and surgeons.
He/she will contribute to novel enhancements, validation, deployment and clinical testing of a bioimpedance system for UADT disease diagnosis and treatment.
This will involve contributions to the design of a clinical-grade sensing probe, real-time bioimpedance data acquisition and analysis, and integration of these technologies in AIRCARE systems for diagnosis and surgery.
The work will involve extensive collaboration with other AIRCARE partners with the goal of achieving a clinical-grade system in a short timeline, which shall enable early data acquisition in the operating room, and clinical trials with the integrated systems within the project timeline.
