At our site in Verona, the Translational Biomarkers department is looking for a
Team leader (f/m/d) - Translational Biomarkers
Full-time and permanent
Your key responsibilities
- Lead a team of scientists within the Translational Biomarkers group that is involved in the discovery and development of biomarkers (and their associated pathway) during all stage of drug discovery
- Drive the development and validation of biomarker assays from early HtL to clinical development with a focus on immunology/auto-immune diseases as well as immunogenicity.
- Establish new read-outs and implement cutting-edge technology in the laboratory
- Design experimental plans and ensure appropriate execution of the activities in the local team(s) and/or global organization, while ensuring high quality, proper documentation, and scientific interpretation.
- Lead a local member of human samples manager unit ensuring a high level of efficiency for human samples acquisition and managing with different partnership and biobank collaborations
- In the function as TB representative, closely collaborate with experts of other disciplines such as Chemistry, DMPK/ADME, in vivo pharmacology, human sample management, and clinical development.
- Serve as a key expert in the area of AID/immunology and specifically immunogenicity, including discussions with clients, proposal preparation, and scientific advice.
- Lead, develop and motivate team members; align efficiently with other Group Leader/Project leader ensuring delivery of project goals within timelines and appropriate resource use
Your qualifications
- A PhD degree in biology or pharmacology with postdoctoral plus > 3-5 year in Pharma, Biotech or contract research organization
- Experience in Biomarker discovery and assay set-up and validation is essential.
Additional experience in the use of biomarkers in clinical trials is considered a plus.
- Strong knowledge/expertise in the immuno-assay field, cellular assays and immunogenicity.
- Familiarity with human sample compliance and regulations is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience in coaching and mentoring junior staff
- High level of motivation, initiative, flexibility and ability to work well in a cross-functional team
- Good interpersonal skills coupled with a high level of independence to ensure productive interactions with clients and different disciplines
- ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Track record of publications in scientific journals
- Fluency in oral and written English
