Description of the Research ActivityApplied and foundational research in the area of management of heterogeneous and federated data, and services on the Web.
The emphasis of the research will be on the one hand on aspects related to data semantics and modeling of the domain of interest through ontology-based formalisms, and on the other hand on efficiency in processing complex queries by exploiting data semantics and heterogeneous data source information.
