Primary Goal The primary goal of the TLD is the overall volume growth of the assigned trade lane(s).
Main Responsibilities To plan and manage demand and supply in the designated Trade Lane. To ensure targeted growth is achieved in coordination with Sales and Product. To drive the actions across all sales channels and geographies to reach agreed volumes/yield targets. The TLD is responsible for the overall trade lane target setting for the designated trade lanes. The TLD is expected to proactively engage & participate in RFQs from strategy session up to business award, implementation, and transition over to geography. With his/her in-depth market knowledge and product expertise, the TLD ensures market conform pricing is submitted as of the 1st round. Be part of procurement strategy with carriers & vendors. Essential Functions Strategic thinking, in essence think big. Responsible for setting volume growth targets together with WST, WOT, and WAT. Responsible for achieving volume growth targets. Protect existing business. Engage in relevant RFQs related to the designated lane, assist RFQ teams, establish a competitive pricing strategy to increase our win ratio. Challenge and validate the proposed target selling rates for the assigned trade lanes & align with product. Work closely with procurement & pricing specialists to ensure up-to-date and confirmed in the central rate repository. Develop strategies to optimize cargo and carrier mix to improve profitability in the lane. Keep abreast of industry changes, market situation, and customer requirements; update all respective working colleagues within the geographies on the changes of market condition. Develop new products and services to increase volumes. Identify top opportunities (top opportunity = great impact on volumes). Monthly reporting for sales activity on the assigned trade lane or lanes. Serve as first point of contact for commercial questions from sales, branches, and operations. Provide support to sales in the form of marketing campaigns, flyers, pricing, routing solutions, and internal/external presentations. Prepare and present quarterly action plan and progress report to WST, WOT, and WAT. Maintain extensive knowledge of designated route including ports, airports, cities, and JAS offices. Familiar with local laws applicable to the route that affect the trade and customers. Identify differentiators in the route to sell to customers. Organize customer events in conjunction with product. Other duties as may be assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities The incumbent will directly and/or indirectly supervise one or more employees.

Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in related field or combination of education and experience. MBA is a plus. Minimum 5 years of successful international freight forwarding sales/operations experience. Extensive knowledge of import/export processes and laws. IATA certification as freight forwarder is desired. Environment 100% performed in a climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions. Travel will be required in support of the position's responsibilities. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers to feel and handle, reach with arms and hands, talk, and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stop, kneel and crouch, lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds. This position requires the employee to frequently work in a fluid, fast-paced environment.
