**Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with technical support centers in South East Asia and East Africa, that provide program management and facilities engineering services worldwide.
Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.
**
The Regional Energy Manager will support the overall operational objectives of Naval Facilities Engineering Systems installations in Djibouti, Bahrain, Spain, Italy, Crete, Romania and Poland.
The primary location will be in Naples, Italy with 70% travel to the other Naval installations.
This is a 1 year project and contingent on the award of the contract.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Achieve a robust energy management program through accomplishing actions/projects by adhering to energy laws, regulations, policies, directives and goals
- Develop and assist with the implementation of actions/projects in support of facility maintenance, repair, and construction activities, including providing design review comments
- Project and program management support
- Identification of energy savings projects, construction coordination and oversight
- Promotion, education, and adoption of energy and water resources conservation and management activity assistance necessary to optimize the use of utility resources, including but not limited to natural gas, electricity, solar, geothermal, water, wastewater, wind, and other energy/utilities
- Provide assistance with energy and water plans such as the Installation Energy Programs Summary (IEPS).
Energy, water security, resiliency and other initiatives should be a consideration while working to achieve Energy and Water savings
- Facility audits (75%, Energy Independence and Security Act (EISA 2007), energy and water project feasibility, development, analysis and measurement & verification of savings, alternative financing project facilitation, demand-side cost reduction, energy awareness promotion, O&M efficiency enhancement, and new technology utilization especially involving renewable energy sources and microgrids
- Contribute to the development and sustainment of a comprehensive Energy Awareness program
- Investigate current meter data for water, electricity, natural gas, and fossil fuels on a regular basis.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
**Qualifications to be successful in the role**:
- At least 3 years as an Energy Manager in the Department of Defense or similar government facilities
- Experience, ability and understanding of energy resiliency, reliability, and efficiency principles and practices applicable to facilities, major energy construction projects, technical engineering drawings and specifications, written statements of work, complex and diverse engineering designs and changes to the contract documents.
Experience and ability to monitor energy consumption and audit facilities, and develop reports successfully with respect to schedule and budget
- Able to read, write and speak fluent English
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software and Adobe Acrobat.
Training and knowledge of IEPs, DUERs, NSGEMs or other Navy energy platforms is desiredAbility to perform moderate activity while working indoors and outdoors and working on active construction sites
