Recreation Fee Technician

This position is being filled under the Contiguous-to-Area (Schedule A, 213.3112(a) (1)) appointment authority.
Accepting applications from local residents who have maintained a permanent and exclusive residence (for at least 2 years) within the communities of Arco, Mackay, Howe and Carey, Idaho.

Duties Career-Seasonal appointments are permanent positions and include the same benefits as Career appointments, but do not provide work on a year-round basis.
You will work for approximately 6 months , from late April – mid November and you will be in a non-pay status from mid November – April.
Serve as a front-line, uniformed representative of the NPS, answering visitor questions and explaining the area's recreational opportunities, including NPS interpretive services, concession operated facilities and services, campground availability, hiking trails, etc.
Perform assignments in accordance with all NPS and U.S. Treasury regulations governing the handling of government funds.
Assist higher level personnel with auditing fee collection program components/systems (e.g.
cash registers, road/trail registers, honor systems, automated fee machines or AFMs, donation boxes, etc.).
Assist in completing audit paperwork and documenting findings.
Communicate audit results to supervisor.
Prepare and complete remittance reports and bank deposits for funds donated and/or collected by others.
Review shift reports and count funds collected; Investigate and proactively resolve routine or recurring discrepancies, and track overages, shortages, and errors.
Inventory and/or restock fee program supplies and assist with placing orders and preparing requisition requests for equipment/supplies as needed.
