We are looking for a REACH, CLP, SDS Specialist to join our HSE team in our Milan Headquarter.
About the Role
As a REACH, CLP, SDS Specialist , you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) and CLP (Classification, Labeling, and Packaging) regulations. You will be responsible for managing the classification, labeling, and safety data sheets of chemicals, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, and maintaining accurate documentation. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong knowledge of REACH and CLP regulations and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure compliance with REACH and CLP regulations and other relevant chemical safety laws.
Monitor updates and changes to REACH and CLP regulations and communicate these changes to the relevant departments.
Review and classify chemical substances and mixtures according to REACH and CLP criteria.
Safety Data Sheets (SDS):
Prepare, update, and maintain SDS for all chemical products in compliance with REACH regulations.
Ensure accurate and comprehensive information is provided in SDS, including hazard identification, composition, first-aid measures, and handling instructions.
Coordinate with internal teams to gather necessary information for SDS preparation.
Labeling and Packaging:
Develop and update labels for chemical products in compliance with CLP requirements.
Ensure accurate and clear labeling of chemical products, including hazard pictograms, signal words, hazard statements, and precautionary statements.
Coordinate with production and packaging teams to ensure proper application of labels.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of chemical classifications, labels, and safety data sheets.
Prepare and submit regulatory reports as required.
Conduct periodic reviews and audits of labeling and classification processes.
Training and Support:
Provide training and support to internal teams on REACH and CLP regulations and SDS requirements.
Serve as a point of contact for REACH, CLP, and SDS-related inquiries and provide guidance to ensure compliance.
Risk Assessment:
Conduct risk assessments for new and existing chemical products to determine appropriate classification and labeling.
Collaborate with research and development teams to assess potential hazards of new chemicals.
Your Profile
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a regulatory compliance role, with a focus on REACH and CLP regulations.
Experience in the chemical, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing industries is preferred.
In-depth knowledge of REACH and CLP regulations and related chemical safety laws.
Strong understanding of chemical classification, labeling, and SDS requirements.
Proficiency in using regulatory databases and software.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Demonstrated ability to drive challenging project forward and meet deadlines.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Languages: English and Italian (fluently spoken and written).
Working Conditions:
This position may require occasional travel to other company locations or industry events.
