ENVISION YOUR FUTURE JOB: As a R&D Plastics researcher you will work in a dynamic and diverse environment, undertaking development projects in synergy with internal facilities and 3rd party collaborators.
The development of new plastic material, processing techniques and lab tests requires a multidisciplinary skillset that combines knowledge of material science and industrial processes applied to polymers.
A natural predisposition to critical thinking is highly valued, with an attitude to proactively finding solutions.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND RELATED ACTIVITIES: Project management: You will oversee projects related to the introduction of new polymer materials for eyewear frames and technologies aimed at product differentiation.
Your responsibilities will include managing relationships with external partners, such as research centers and industrial collaborators, as well as overseeing the project budget and expenses.
Knowledge management: You will be responsible for the collection and organisation of technical knowledge in libraries to facilitate technology transfer and know-how sharing across departments within the company.
Plastic processing: You will support developments on state-of-the-art plastic processing technologies, such as injection molding and extrusion, applied to eyewear frames.
Polymer testing: You will analyze and study the properties of polymers through experimental data, contributing to research and development projects.
PORTRAIT OF A PERFECT CANDIDATE: Mandatory Educational Background in Materials Engineering or Material Science, PhD highly valued.
Previous experience in polymer characterization, injection molding, mold design and material selection.
Previous experience in a manufacturing company within the plastic industry.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Good communication skills to independently engage collaborators.
Fluent in English and Italian.
