In this context our research and development mechanical department is the heart of an organization with passionate experts in complex system integrations between hardware, firmware and software.


In the R&D Mechanical Department we intensively use the parametric modelling tool to design our products in the most efficient way provided by the tool. A structured process of development and review guarantees to achieve industrial products with extremely high quality. This allows us to integrate in our products the most advanced technologies, positioning ourselves as the best manufacturer in the world in Quality Assurance in Tightening.


Thesis Title & Purpose Advanced Parametric Modelling: Optimization of mass of a Static Solution for a Calibration System (Torque Static Transducer + Joint Simulator) The thesis purpose is to introduce the use of Artificial Intelligence with Generative Design into the Design of a chosen product.

During the thesis development it will be investigated and explored possible design solutions to optimize some defined characteristics of the product. The main drivers to conduct the investigation can be related to the components or the product as a whole.

Optimization concerns: components and product mass, CO2 production to realize the part and assemble the product, heat and surface treatments of the components, production technology of the components.

Under investigation also how the optimization of the inertia can improve the repeatability of the system.


Competence Goals - Your path The Learning journey will provide an understanding of the fundamental principles of parametric design, combined with the capabilities of artificial intelligence for optimizing solutions.

Advanced techniques for creating and processing complex shapes will be explored by using geometric constraints and elements of reference. Assembly management and component analysis will be critical to ensuring the integrity of design.

With generative design software, will interactively specify the requirements and goals, including preferred materials and manufacturing processes, and the generative system will automatically produce a manufacture-ready design.


Technical Skills Required General knowledge of engineering design practices and principles.

General knowledge of mechanical design tools: Parametric CAD, FEM & FEA tools (Creo knowledge will be a plus).

Good knowledge of Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) or their equivalent.


Language Skills Basic Italian.

Good English to interface with international colleagues and ability to work in an international environment; other languages are a plus.


Competences Attitude to support continuous innovation and development of new products, showing good creativity.

Initiative-taking approach in daily work directed to continuous improvement, remaining always focused on the results.

Curious, to support the development of innovation and new ways.

Effective communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.


The duration of the internship in terms of months and the time organization (full-time/part-time) will be agreed during the interview. There is no economic compensation, we offer the company canteen.
