We are currently seeking a R&D Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team in Tognana, Italy!
In this role, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary Engineering team, working on Sustaining & VAVE activities on Thermal units.
What kind of work will you be doing? Designing solutions with a focus on the mechanical aspects (mainly sheet metal and piping), collaborating with Suppliers, Procurement, and Industrial Engineering, being aware of the necessary product marketing inputs. Creating and reviewing product documentation (CAD drawings, specifications, bills of material). Meeting objectives of cost, quality, environment, and time of execution, achieving the best trade-off between market and internal customer needs. Analyzing and resolving technical problems regarding products under his/her responsibility; improving, updating, reviewing the mechanical drawings according to the information from the Production, Procurement, and Logistics departments, to simplify assembly, reduce costs, and improve quality. What will make you successful? Technical Diploma or bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. At least 5 years of previous working experience on similar activities, ideally in Chiller or CRAC and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) sectors. Good knowledge of light structural work processing is mandatory. Knowledge of refrigeration principles is desirable. Knowledge of thermodynamics aspects is desirable but not essential. Excellent knowledge of 3D/2D CAD & PLM systems, Microsoft Office tools, particularly PTC Creo and Solid Edge. Knowledge of management computer systems.
