Each day, you will act as the first point of contact in Research and Development for specific product-related issues and maintenance.
You will also showcase your expertise by identifying, proposing, and implementing innovative solutions.

This role contributes to the Medium Voltage Switchgear business line within the Electrification Distribution Solutions Division in Italy.
You will be mainly accountable for:Maintaining recognized expertise in a specific area by integrating the latest developments in technologies, tools, and methodologies into your work.Finding new ways of addressing customer needs and solving problems, by following your ideas, creating hypotheses (i.E.
designs and prototypes), and defining ways to validate them (e.G.
tests).Documenting work results (like findings, designs, or test results), allowing others to maintain and improve them.Providing consulting services to business operations and customers.Understanding and initiating IP generation in your area of specialization and participating in the project IP strategy development.Qualifications for the role Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a Technical High School diploma.Experience in the electromechanical industry, preferably working as engineer/designer of medium voltage products.Enjoy working with designing, prototyping, and testing mechanical and/or electrical components.Proficient in operating with CAD (preferably SolidWorks) and PLM (preferably Windchill) software and capable of reading 2D technical drawings and electrical diagrams.Passionate about creating solutions from scratch with strong written and spoken communication skills.Comfortable communicating in Italian and English languages, both written and spoken.More about us ABB's Distribution Solutions Division facilitates the efficient and reliable distribution, protection, and control of power by improving electric power quality while strengthening the resilience of the grid.
