Your role We are looking for a RD Concept Lab Manager who will join our RD Department.
This role will join the Concept Lab is an RD Mechanical Engineering team focused on creating new concepts of hinges, nose-pads, temple-tips, temples, clip-on and all small functional details that you can find in an eyewear frame.
Main responsibilities: Project Development Supervision: Supervise the management of the different concurrent projects assigned to the resources, balancing loads and timings according to multiple constraints.
Concept Group Management: Lead and support a group of 4 FTEs dedicated to the development of eyewear mechanical concepts, managing projects, defining priorities, and assigning resources.
Support and Tutoring: Provide both technical and professional support to overcome obstacles and expedite development.
Networking: Lead discussions with the other company functions related to product development such as Product and Brand Management, Engineering, Process Engineering, Quality, Sourcing, Controlling.
Supplier Management: Define and develop a network of external partners to support concept development at different stages as necessary.
Budgeting: Define yearly budget considering future team developments and projects necessities.
Product-oriented mindset: Maintain focus on final customer needs.
Focus on timing: Define actions to respect timing constraints.
Innovator mentality: Keep focus on investigating new concepts and techniques, and on how to efficiently implement them.
Main requirements: Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience in leading a team of RD Engineers.
Previous experience in a role of Product Design Engineer in automotive, interior design or fashion industry will be a plus.
