Seniority level: Manager A leading manufacturer of electrical components for industrial applications is looking to fill a full-time Senior Quality Control and Assurance Engineer role (Sr QC/QA Eng).
Mission
The Sr QC/QA Eng represents the Voice of the Customer towards the Product and the Production Teams. S/He:
Advocates for a partnership approach to the Customer relationship, from specification to production and works relentlessly to reduce to zero the gap between the Customer's expected and perceived quality. Promotes within the organisation the idea that the perceived quality IS the Company's and not just the Product's quality. Ensures a 5-Sigma or higher level of quality of the finished goods. Summary
The Sr QC/QA Eng is responsible for defining and implementing all the quality processes (supplier quality, process quality, finished product quality). S/He is the company lead for renewing the ISO 9001/14001 Quality certifications, updating the Quality Manual, and the Customers' audits.
The Sr QC/QA Eng manages the laboratory and provides feedback to internal and external customers. S/He guides and supports the planning, implementation, monitoring, and improvement of the Product Quality Management System and guarantees raw materials and finished product quality.
S/He will manage a small team of Quality Specialists (currently 2 x FTE).
Description
Ensures the quality of raw materials and finished products Manages and resolves Customers' Non-Conformity claims, defines the necessary corrective actions and verifies their implementation to avoid future claims Checks the production cycle and defines the appropriate corrective measures, ensuring their implementation Plans and conducts internal audits to ensure that the organisation complies with the Quality Manual Manages laboratory machinery and resources, planning their use in line with priorities Defines and keeps up to date the relevant technical procedures (tests, inspections, selections, approvals) and ensures that they are carried out as planned Supports the validation of products under development Collaborate with the Product and Purchasing Manager to resolve issues relating to incoming goods and raw material Supports the evaluation of external suppliers by setting up an objective system for collecting data relating to their performance Updates the Quality Manual, drafting or collecting contributions from other colleagues Maintains relations with the ISO Certification Body Analyses the quality status achieved and periodically reports to the top management on the progress of the Quality Management System so that they can carry out a correct review of the same Skills Required
Technical competence (Use of measuring instruments, familiarity with electrical quantities, familiarity with production processes, reading technical drawings and technical specifications) Customer-centric, relates to customers and prospects Initiative: a self-starter, as required in a small Company Ability to work effectively under pressure Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with colleagues Honour commitments Sense of urgency, gets things done Extremely well-organised Able to manage their calendar Able to set the right priorities in daily tasks Ability to plan activities flexibly Effective verbal and written communication (reports, presentations, etc.) Teamworking Other
5+ years' experience in a similar role Fluent in English (will be tested during the selection process); other languages welcome Technical background (experienced in Engineering, degree not mandatory) Experience with SAP-B1 and previous experience in design/bid or product management/production are an advantage Expert user of Microsoft Office – Excel (e.g. pivot tables, VLOOKUP/CERCA.VERT, etc.); Word (e.g. revisions, cross-references); PowerPoint (e.g. timed presentation); Outlook (e.g. categories) – will be tested during the selection process References will be requested Location: Province of Naples (Italy) Seniority level
