The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the development and compliance of Food Safety and Quality programs as well as the overall sanitation programs at the plant level to assure the food safety and quality of all products.
Ways you will make a difference
Directs the work of sanitation crews and supports the work of QA Technicians and QA Coordinators to ensure on-time start-ups, compliance to the Food Safety Plans, and product release per our positive release program. Ensuring that personnel in the departments maintain high sanitation, GMP, and safety standards. Collaborates on the development and implementation of policies and procedures (i.e. SOPs and SSOPs). Implements the Master Sanitation Schedules (MSS) for plant and warehouse facilities, interior/exterior to ensure superior sanitation of the production, equipment and surrounding areas at all times. Completes plant quality, sanitation and safety audits on a regular basis. Participates in regular meetings with plant management to discuss quality and sanitation improvements. Facilitates problem resolution related to sanitation and quality issues. Back-up to Sr Food Safety and Compliance Supervisor in his/her absence. Review post-sanitation inspections and analyze ATP test results in order to implement appropriate and sustainable corrective actions. Manage the Inventory and purchasing of all sanitation and quality supplies. Conduct internal food safety and work safety audit as a part of the food safety team and safety committee. Facilitate new hire training on Quality training days. Facilitate the training of employees in Sanitation and Quality Departments, including the training of Operation employees on proper sanitation and sanitizing of equipment and surrounding areas. Ensure cleaning tasks are completed adequately and on time. Use defect root cause analysis for the investigation of consumer and customer complaints and quality related losses. Develops corrective actions and monitors for effectiveness. Troubleshoots using product tests and product specification measurements. Manages relationships with internal and external customers, suppliers, colleagues, and support services to ensure achievement of targets. Manages quality assurance support team by scheduling and assigning work, providing trainings, and managing budgets. Responsible for ensuring compliance for FSSC 22000 while driving continuous improvement for Quality metrics and KPIs in the factory. Actively participates in the change control process. Communicates Quality and Food Safety briefs to the factory. Summarizes data and prepares and interprets reports for use by management. Act as a liaison between management and quality staff to support corporate and plant-driven initiatives. Supports factory traceability exercises. Manages test requirements for incoming goods, microbiology and/or sensory by scheduling and assigning work, providing trainings, and managing budgets. Ensures daily routine sample analyses using lab techniques and other instrumentation following Good Laboratory Practices and Internal Control Plans. Oversees lab operational activities – daily equipment maintenance, ordering, stock control, stock record entry reporting, document control, etc. Ensures compliance with all regulatory guidelines pertaining to safety, health and environmental.
