Hauptaufgaben Incumbent performs routine, special, directed routine, and initial sanitary audits of commercial food establishments for the Public Health Command Europe throughout the countries of Italy, Spain, Turkey, Ireland, U.K., Eastern Europe, the continent of Africa and others as required.
Performs a variety of sanitation audit inspections of both military and commercial establishments and assigns an audit rating.
Assesses findings and makes determinations as to whether or not an establishment can be approved for Armed Forces Procurement.
These determinations are made based on critical nature of findings and the employees' assessment of a facility's overall food safety and defense programs.
Prepares, submits for approval, and reviews technical inspection of commercial food establishments and subsistence product inspections.
Receives requests for initial audits from higher HQs and evaluates technical information for completeness and applicability.
Assists HQ personnel and other Activity assigned auditors as an interpreter.
Acts as a liaison between military public health personnel and civilian public health in host nation.
Collects necessary information pertaining to product recall activities, customer complaints, or other public health concerns.
Determines the relevance of data and documentation in plant records, laboratory test data, and observes activities for compliance with regulations and Defense Health Agency and/or Army Public Health Center policies, technical communications, and procedures.
He/she conducts inspections resulting from customer complaints, evaluates associated hazards, and recommends final disposition of product and includes these factors in written reports.
Incumbent generates reports and updates databases in the Veterinary Service Information Management System server.
Investigates Hazardous Food and Drug Recalls and Vendor and Local Recalls involving potentially dangerous subsistence and non-prescription drugs with the potential of being in or entering the DOD supply channels.
Conducts inspections and coordinates with local military and civilian public health agencies in the investigation of food borne illness outbreaks and other food related bio-terrorism events.
He/she serves as alternate certification official for new commercial sanitary auditors.
Provides guidance to auditor trainees and in the absence of the PHA-I primary trainer responsible for managing the commercial sanitary audit training program.
NOTE: The duties regularly require extended periods of standing, walking, and driving in addition to periods of being at a desk and computer.
TDY Travel may be required.
Tour of duty is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 08.00 to 17.00, including a 1-hour uncompensated lunch break.
Qualifikationsanforderungen MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must meet the qualification requirements in the Qualification Standards Handbook as summarized below.
EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have a minimum of 1 year of Specialized Experience equivalent to at least the UA-05 grade level.
Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled.
OR SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Diploma di Laurea triennale plus 60 CFU towards a Diploma di Laurea Magistrale/Specialistica or Diploma di Master universitario di primo livello, education must be directly related to the occupation.
A copy of the diploma must be provided.
