Position OverviewWe are looking for a Propulsion Engineer to join our dynamic team in Italy. In this important role, you will work in the Propulsion engineering area on the design of cold gas thrusters and green propellant thrusters. The activities will range from the specification definition up to AIV activities and will include the design of sub-systems, the plan and execution of tests and postprocessing activities.
Tasks and Responsibilities:Provide expert technical knowledge in chemical propulsion systems to project teams developing thrusters.Lead the design and analysis of green propellant thruster subsystems, including the qualification and selection of critical equipment.Lead the testing campaign for cold gas propulsion systems.Support assembly, integration, and verification (AIV) processes.Develop and validate tools for data post-processing and analysis.Identify critical development challenges and provide technical solutions to resolve them.Verify analysis outputs against test results to make sure they meet project specifications.Provide regular updates and reports to the Head of Propulsion and Lead Platform Engineer.Required Technical Skills:Strong background, specialized experience, and in-depth knowledge of relevant technologies in the field of chemical propulsion.Proficiency in computer-aided design and experience in the development and validation of relevant tools and methods.Previous experience with propulsion testing.Competence in pressure testing and related safety protocols.Preferential Skills:Knowledge about space engineering standards and their preparation and implementation.Experience planning and conducting AIV activities.Previous experience with Ansys Fluent, LabView.Previous experience in data post-processing with Python or Matlab.Previous experience in institutional project.Education:Master's degree in aerospace engineering is required.
