Installation Proposal Engineer for Land HV Power Cable Systems Accountability: The Installation Proposal Engineer - a position for paternity leave - contributes at both stages of tender of Power Cable Systems and during project construction. The major contribution is focused on the tender phase of the project.

THE ROLE At tender stage, the main activities are the following:
Knowledge of the cable market in terms of Customers, Competitors and Subcontractors Careful examination of the tender documentation, in particular the technical specifications Examination of the survey data of the installation provided by the Customer Elaboration of a technical solution in accordance with above requisites Internal discussions within Installation Engineering and other Departments, as required, on the chosen solution Participation in clarifications meetings both internal and with Customer during tender preparation Site visits, if necessary, to understand logistic aspects of the job, check feasibility of solutions, contacting potential subcontractors for civil works, etc. Preparation and issuing of technical specifications (RFQ) for the potential subcontractors Examination, in collaboration with purchasing dept., of the received proposals from potential subcontractors from different points of views: technical, economical and for scheduling/timing of the work Discussions with Subcontractors to clarify offers and align them to Prysmian/Customer requirements Fine-tuning of the final solution in agreement/cooperation with all relevant Departments such as: System Design Engineering, Sales, Purchasing, Logistic, legal, HSE, Quality, Project Management. Elaboration of the Installation Costs, assessing and quantifying risks associated with installation activities. Preparation of the Technical Description of the Work and the documentation requested by the Customer regarding Installation matters. Assembly and preparation of the Plan of Work regarding the installation activities and provision of the necessary input to planners for the assembly of the overall POW. Participation, when required, in negotiations and clarification meetings with the Customer after the presentation of the proposal. Revisions, as necessary, of the tender package as a result of negotiations, change of Customer requests, etc. Compliance with internal rules and procedures during the entire process At contractual stage, the main activities are the following:
Participation in internal Kick Off Meeting(s) Transmittal to the project team and Departments involved in the project execution phase, of the relevant information such as: Costs Qualifications and assumptions Technical documentation Plan Of Work Other relevant information Participation in internal clarification meetings with the relevant departments Participation in meetings with the Customer and/or Subcontractors. Technical Assistance to the relevant Departments Deeper involvement in the detailed engineering aspects, aimed at construction. Assessment of potential changes since the tender stage in terms of technical solution, contractual issues, risks, costs changes and the final collection of Lessons Learnt to be implemented in other tendering processes. BASIC REQUIREMENTS Degree in Engineering or other relevant technical disciplines. Fluent in English, written and spoken Curious and eager to quickly learn and get involved to improve autonomy Precise, proactive, problem-solving and target-oriented Capacity to understand and conceptualize complexity into concise frameworks Pragmatic, flexible, capable of setting and handling and adapting to priorities. Flexibility and capability to manage changes during the work Good relationship approach and team working capability Knowledge and familiarity with all basic and common software like Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, AutoCAD, and in the use of the Web. Availability for short but possibly frequent trips, domestic and abroad In case of experienced candidates, at least fulfilling one of the requirements below in the added-value requirements list.
