Your new role This position will primarily support all pre-contract activities within the sales and Sales Engineering groups focusing on: Bid specification review Complete cost estimates and scope of supply Provides input and information to sales managers and sales engineers to help produce profitable, concise proposals for client submittal and provides interface for clear definition during the turnover of the contact from Sales to Project Execution.
During available time, the Application Engineer will support active projects and key engineering tasks.
This position will work with sales and engineering staff to review bid specifications and provide comments, through the company's requirements and technologies.
The Application Engineer will work with the Project Executive and Purchasing staff, especially the group in the USA, to define estimating procedures and to improve cost estimate accuracy.
The Application Engineer will attend internal project kickoff meetings to ensure efficient and complete transfer of information from Sales to Project Execution.
They will assist the Project Execution in the early stages of the project in determining the needs of the project and building suitable communication channels for engineering firms.
The Application Engineer will coordinate new product development and the effects on constructability and BOP concerns with the Sales team.
Performs new vendor qualification activities and develops a summary report to help clearly define the vendors' capabilities, strengths, weaknesses, and any potential risk factors.
Will be assigned key engineering tasks such as the creation and/or review of P&ID, PFD, various lists as required in support of active projects.
The estimated time split between Sales support, new vendor qualification, and project engineering support is 50/20/30.
What you'll need to succeed Bachelors required; Bachelors in Engineering is preferred.
At least 3 - 5 years of experience in systems design and cost estimating is required.
Knowledge of power plant installation practices, including ATEX Zones, along with experience with commercial terms and conditions is preferred.
HAZOP and Risk Analysis experience and proficiencies required.
Ability to use feedback to modify designs and improve efficiencies is required.
Ability to analyze, interpret, or make deductions from varying facts or circumstances is required.
Excellent communications skills, speaking clearly and persuasively, are required.
Must be able to travel +10% of the time.
Must speak Italian and English.
