PLACE OF WORK: In Oromia East or West Hararghe Zone and in Somali regions Fafan or Shebele Zone
COMMITMENT: 100%
DURATION: 18 months
REMUNERATION: $1,100 Monthly Basic salary

About the role We are currently looking for two project officers to join our team in Ethiopia. One based in Oromia and the other Somali region. As the project officer you will play a crucial part in continuing our partnership with IOM with the aim of facilitating off-farm livelihood diversification for women and youth among Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in selected zones in Oromia and Somali region.
You will be part of a local and global team and report directly to the Project Manager. You will be responsible for a smooth implementation of the project in the respective implementation areas, coordination with internal and external stakeholders and delivery of the project in line with agreed timeline and high quality.
Main Responsibilities Project implementation support: Assist in the execution and implementation of the project and its activities.
Arranging and assisting workshops, assessments, training, coaching sessions and other events; contributing to the design and preparation of training materials; attendance list, etc.
Support for external local training consultants and coaches; scheduling program meetings with partners etc.
Support the development and maintenance of project plans, timelines, and budgets.
Assist in the search and selection process of running competitions to select local trainers. Support in identifying and evaluating high potential entrepreneurs actively involved in the delivery of strong Entrepreneurial programs, ensuring all participants have the support they need.
Facilitating effective communication between project stakeholders, scheduling meetings, and providing administrative support as needed.
Documentation, Reporting & Data Collection: Compiling and maintaining project documentation, progress reports, and ensuring accuracy in data collection.
Adaptation, translation and development of training material.
Support the impact team with collection and quality assurance of impact data in your region. This includes being a part of creating a baseline database.
Contribute to program reports including weekly reports, quarterly reports and other program reports and work plan.
Resource & Risk Management: Assisting in resource allocation, tracking, and ensuring resources are available as per project requirements.
Identifying potential risks, issues, and assisting in implementing mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
Support the manager in dealing with any other tasks as may be required.
Other responsibilities: Contribute to efforts to share best practice, ideas and experience regarding successful fundraising and partner collaborations.
Contribute to 'One Reach for Change' by promoting a collaborative culture and efficient sharing of resources across all Reach for Change teams.
Responsibility to build and retrain your own knowledge about the field of social entrepreneurship and innovation.
If necessary, and under periods of intense workload; help and support the rest of the organization to achieve team and organizational objectives.
Competencies & skills we are looking for: Ability to:

Willingness and ability to travel within the implementation areas from time to time.
Education & experience: We expect you to tick off some of the below:
Minimum of 3 years relevant experience from similar positions in international development.
A university degree in a relevant field.
Experience from work within the philanthropic/non-profit or business sector in the project specific regions.
Experience in implementing projects in disaster affected and IDPs situations or familiarity with the implementation areas.
Qualified experiences in business training and coaching preferably for MSMEs.
Proven experience with adult learning and group facilitation.
Excellent training capacity and report writing skills.
Excellent command of English and Amharic languages and the respective local languages Oromiffa and Somali.
Experience of working with M&E in projects where the beneficiaries are children, youth, vulnerable groups and those affected by disasters including training and supporting others in M&E.
Proficiency in project management tools and software.
Understanding of project management methodologies and best practices is a plus.
Previous experience in a similar role or in project coordination/administration is advantageous.
Experienced user of Microsoft Office/Google Suite and ability to quickly understand and use web based applications and platforms.
