The project: This is a client-facing role, responsible for working together with team members, developing the client's strategy, through to assisting in the appointment of the extended professional team of local consultants and contractors.
This project manager position will be based in Milan, Italy.
Key Responsibilities: Promote Mace's value of safety first, exhibiting visible safety behaviours, sharing lessons learned and using safety moments and Mace's HSW framework to support the safety and wellbeing of all Mace staff.
Possess technical expertise in local health and safety rules and regulations relevant to project portfolio.
Champion a diverse and inclusive working environment and understand the importance of the wellbeing of the people in your team.
Ensure quality systems are suitably managed in line with service excellence.
Deliver and manage project plans from project inception/brief, through design development and planning, contractor procurement and construction phase in accordance with the overall delivery program and agreed project milestones.
Manage tasks and associated deliverables in support of senior project managers and other leaders, alongside the wider project and client teams, to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of the project.
Determine and arrange project technical services and external resources required for projects.
Deliver project objectives in line with the project plan, leading and supervising the project team/s and relevant stakeholders to achieve the project key performance indicators (KPIs).
Monitor project timeframes and budgets, ensuring diligent management and successful delivery of project management, highlighting any risks, challenges and mitigations.
Collaborate with relevant parties/stakeholders and ensure robust quality systems are in place and suitably managed and monitored in line with Mace way/service excellence.
Effectively coordinate and communicate with all project parties/stakeholders, ensuring completion of responsibilities/tasks and that suitable standards and records are documented and maintained.
Manage design/consultant/contractor/supply chain team and project stakeholders to ensure effective completion of responsibilities including project brief/scope, fees, processing claims, deliverables and/or project variations.
Constructively challenge clients, stakeholders, internal and external teams to deliver optimum solutions.
Work collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition, sharing responsibility for the proactive identification and management of associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.
Minimum Requirements: Membership of RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
Experience in the successful delivery phase of projects and programmes in the private sector.
Property or infrastructure project management expertise.
Commercial and financial acumen.
Experience of working on projects within large, diverse teams.
Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects.
