The Project Information Manager is a professional who works within an EPC organization to ensure the efficient and accurate management of project information.
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of project information management best practices, as well as experience managing large amounts of data.
Also, he/she should have good knowledge of EPC processes and project management tools.
The primary responsibilities of the Project Information Manager include:
Defining project information management requirements.Establishing data management procedures.Managing regulatory compliance and data security policies.Defining specifications for information management systems.Supervising personnel who manage project information management activities.PIM ensures the identification, implementation, and correct functioning of the most appropriate Information Management (IM) and Information Technology (IT) solutions for business project needs, according to defined targets in terms of quality, costs, time schedules, and service level.
Duties include:
Providing assistance to the Project Director/Project Manager in relations with the Client for Information Management topics.Carrying out planning of the project or phase/activities assigned to the reference Project Manager in liaison with other project organization positions.Ensuring the review of contractual documents within area of responsibility and identifying project IM and IT needs to support the project organization.Supporting the Project Manager in monitoring the IM/IT direct and indirect costs during project execution.Ensuring the definition and implementation of the IM Project Execution Plan and the IT Project Execution Plan.Collaborating with relevant project positions to ensure a proper set-up of project tools considering Client's requirements.Defining and maintaining an appropriate Digital Management Framework for the lifecycle of project electronic information.Coordinating relevant IT Focal Points and IM Data Coordinator in different project locations.Monitoring the status of electronic information and reporting issues to relevant project positions.Supporting the IM/IT Change Management process for project IT/IM solution/services.Supporting the progressive and final handover of data and documents to the Client.Monitoring that the required integrity, availability, and privacy level of electronic information is respected.The ideal candidate should have:
A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Project Management, or a related discipline.At least 2-3 years of experience in the role of Project Information Manager on EPC projects.Good knowledge of project information management software, such as EDMS, Hexagon suite, Aveva Suite, or similar.Good knowledge of project management software, such as Primavera, Microsoft Project, or similar.Knowledge of Data Model definitions based on international standards (CFIHOS, ISO 15926) is preferred.A fluent command of English.The Project Information Manager should be a highly organized individual, with strong attention to detail and deadlines, as well as skilled in managing relationships with colleagues, suppliers, customers, and other project stakeholders.
