POSITION TITLE: Project DevelopmentBUSINESS UNIT: Business Development EuropeLOCATION: Italy (Availability to travel)REPORTS TO: Head of Project DevelopmentOVERVIEW: Leading global operator specialised in the complete management of solar and wind assets for the production of electricity is looking for a Project Developer.The successful candidate will support the department in:Individuating suitable renewable investment opportunities both Greenfield and Brownfield (origination)Following up and progressing with local partners, the Greenfield projects along the critical administrative path (permitting)Participating in renewable tenders or programs (execution)The candidate must be familiarized with key aspects, features and issues associated with the development of renewable projects in Europe, from inception till delivery.RESPONSIBILITIES:As part of the Project Development team, this position will be accountable for supporting the different stages of project development, including:Investment opportunities assessment, focusing on key administrative, technical, commercial and development features.Close interaction and follow up with local partners to provide constant guidance and feedback.Scouting and procuring attractive Greenfield opportunities and implementing an adequate follow up of the different critical project paths to comply with internal and external timelines.Preparing adequate project progress reports and presentations required for internal purposes, by properly addressing key risks associated with each project or opportunity.Support in the preparation of documentation required for tendering and bid processes.Interact with the other departments (such as finance, legal, technical, etc.)
involved in project assessment or implementation.Working in close interaction with both internal (legal, technical and financial departments) and external (site finders, administrative, legal and technical advisers) stakeholders involved in the development of a project.QUALIFICATION AND EXPERTISE:Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience required.+5 years of combined professional experience working (directly or indirectly) in the renewable large scale industry.
Ideally, the candidate will have a solid development and commercial background in large scale PV industry being involved in all relevant phases of the project life cycle.Deep knowledge of all key features of utility scale renewable projects.Familiarity with permitting process and interaction with local and federal authorities and with external technical, legal and financial advisers.Strong verbal and written communication, presentation, and written skills.Project management fundamentals.Strong negotiating commercial and MA skills in renewable sector.Experience in working with a diverse range of cultures and relationships across shareholders, colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
