Project Developer – REMOTE Leap29 are currently assisting a renewable energy developer that is active in several European countries. They are a well-funded start-up company with a wealth of market experience among the founders and senior managers. This role will focus on identifying and originating solar project development opportunities in Italy, as well as supporting comprehensive project planning. The ideal candidate will have a technical background, preferably with prior experience in engineering, to effectively contribute to the design and development process.
Responsibilities Identify and support the development of solar project opportunities. Analyse the feasibility of solar projects, focusing on access and connection to Italy's transmission and distribution grids. Conduct territorial, environmental, urban, technical, and social assessments of potential projects. Assist in project planning, budget definition, and ongoing project monitoring. Collaborate with engineering teams for the effective design and layout of photovoltaic parks. Support the processes of grid connection, land scouting, contract negotiations, and obtaining necessary permits and authorizations. Coordinate the technical studies required for project design and regulatory approvals. Participate in the preparation of bids for solar project tenders. Ensure project compliance with Italian laws, regulations, codes, and standards. Facilitate communication between internal teams and external stakeholders (e.g., landowners, municipalities, regulatory bodies). Assist in negotiating infrastructure agreements, where required. Requirements 2-4 years of experience in renewable energy project development. Experience with land acquisition, permitting, and grid interconnection processes in Italy. Technical knowledge or a background in engineering is a plus. Familiarity with the regulatory environment for medium or large-scale photovoltaic projects in Italy. Proficiency in tools such as Google Earth, Microsoft Office, Project, and PVsyst; GIS knowledge is an advantage. Understanding of the Italian electricity market, including interactions with grid operators (e.g., Terna, Enel). Italian proficiency, with a working knowledge of English. Ability to work remotely, with the possibility of travelling to project sites.
