Program buyer supporting the R&D during the development phase of new projects providing technical/commercial information to define the appropriate costed BOM for success of projects
**Main Responsibilities**:
- Develop, evaluate, and maintain relationships with suppliers
- Facilitate technical discussions between the suppliers and the R&D.
Participate in the organization of technical calls or meetings
- Visit supplier's plants/factories to examine and learn about products, services, and processes
- Works closely with the commodity manager and project leader to align R&D activities to the commodity specific strategy
- Communicate all requirements to the suppliers to identify and source new electronic components
- Verify the status and life cycle of components, negotiate price and lead time with the approved suppliers or new ones
- Request of datasheet, other technical documents and samples
- Make BOM cost analysis during the development phase and provide information to manage the project status report
- Leads the NPI sourcing for the new components
- Sourcing and cost savings initiatives
- Contribute to resolve issues related to supplier quality, pricing, and delivery in a timely manner
- Maintain continuous in-depth knowledge of market conditions, industry trends, and developing technologies and bring industry knowledge to NPI process for success of projects
**Requirements**:
- Seasoned professional with 3 years+ experience in purchasing of electronic components working in a multi-national environment.
- Hands-on experience in similar industries (high tech, electronics, automotive, FMCG).
- Good knowledge of electronic component market
- Ability to work in team, relationship with suppliers, problem solving, strong decision-making capabilities and ability to take initiatives.
**Additional Knowledge**:
- SAP and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
- Fluent in English
