The Smart Eyewear LAB, a pioneering project in heart of Milan The EssilorLuxottica Smart Eyewear LAB is the first joint research platform ever between EssilorLuxottica and Politecnico di Milano aimed at designing the smart-glasses of the future, a new generation of wearables which are capable of autonomous network connection.
It is a pioneering project that will enable the development of new technologies and services using a widely used interface such as eyewear.
The EssilorLuxottica Smart Eyewear Lab in Milan will work as part of the EssilorLuxottica Group's R&D platform, which is already operating globally; it'll initially last five years and will employ over 100 enthusiastic and talented researchers and scientists working closely together in a dedicated space within the Innovation District in Milan.
Envision your future job in the LAB In this context, we are looking for highly motivated and talented professionals to join EssilorLuxottica Smart Eyewear Lab as junior or senior Principal Investigators, responsible for activities related to a specific research stream with the goal of developing smart glasses with the integration of new hardware, new algorithms, and software.
The selected candidates will work in an international environment, in close collaboration with researchers and professors from Politecnico di Milano, top scientists from other universities and MSc and PhD students and will focus on the most current and up-to-date challenges related to technological research in the field of AR and smart glasses.
Portrait of a perfect candidate We're looking for candidates adaptable and flexible to the continuous changes associated with research demands, with a high self-motivation and independent learning, not afraid to develop and test new ideas.
The ideal candidate has:
R&D work experience (both from academic or company work environments)Various technical backgrounds such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or equivalentAt least 2-3 years of experience after PhD or at least 5 years of experience after Master's Degree, depending on the specific role, in the field of embedded systems, low power smart sensors, embedded machine learning and signal processing, deep learning, wearable device applications, laser, waveguides, holograms, optical systems design and simulation.International experience is considered a plus.Send your applications or look on our career page for specific open positions within the EssilorLuxottica Smart Eyewear Lab project!
