As a **Production Supervisor & Supply Chain Specialist** you will arrange, assure and supervise the manufacturing activities of a production department, by ability to translate and ensure business goals into practical and operative production plan, in respect of quality standards and assigned costs.
Settle need for raw materials, packages, intermediates or purchased finished goods to address forecasted demand, issuing purchase orders in line with short term production volume requirements and medium-long term forecast.
Scope is to guarantee the availability of items on time and in full at warehouse vs planned start date of consumption and in alignment with safety stock parameters and future forecast consumptions for stock items (MTS) or within need by date for order items (MTO).
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Support Operations Manager and Plant Manager in order to arrange production departments.
- Develop and Implement Improvement Plans to meet existing and future needs.
- Focus on Continuous Improvement.
- Manage Change within the work group.
- Planning and guarantee filling efficiencies reducing the downtime to a minimum, by partnership with other departments and laboratories.
- Agree and monitor Production objectives and Targets.
- Manage and Improve Utilization of Assets.
- Participate in budget setting (equipment / people / materials) and take ownership for supervising and controlling budget for own area.
- Ensure own team are trained and validated in relevant PPG Quality Policies, Procedures and Standards.
- Actively promote and encourage a culture focused on Continuous Quality Improvement.
- Establish appropriate workforce plans and work with Operations Manager and HR to ensure that the plan has achieved.
- Ensure appropriate training and development has identified, delivered and evaluated to meet current and future Business requirements.
- Mentor, Develop and Empower the Shift Leaders to enable them to develop in their roles.
- Effectively analyze if inventories need to be maintained, raised or lowered, deciding which products require purchase orders (issue) or must be adjusted according to demand evolution (reschedule, cancel, modify qty) for standard or consignment stock materials.
- Balance arrival of materials towards receiving dept to ensure levelled arrivals throughout the days of the week, whilst meeting inventory targets.
Actively assess modifications induced by production planning counterparts and (re)schedule orders on a weekly basis to grant material arrival in time for production activities.
- Daily verification of delivery adherence vs order acknowledgement, proactively identifying and prioritizing late/delayed orders in direct interaction with purchasing and supplier.
Provide regular feedback to **PPG** Purchasing dept regarding supplier performance.
- Ensure timely and accurate information is supplied to Customer Service and Replenishment members regarding late items
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineer or Industrial Engineer or equivalent
- Strong technical skills in production department
- Principles of continuous improvement
- Quality concepts and procedures for investigation of quality related incidents
- Proficient knowledge of supply chain fundamentals and the sales and operations planning (S&OP) process.
- Understand materials management fundamentals and scheduling techniques using forward scheduling and backward scheduling.
- Learning experience on use spreadsheet and ERP software in managing the planning process.
- Accurately identify risks affecting supply, transformation and customer demand.
- Outstanding interpersonal and strong communication
- Proficient English
