Production Supervisor Purpose of the Position The Production Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of both the sand mine and dry plant.
This position will oversee and coordinate the work of all shifts to meet production requirements, ensuring alignment between mine operations and the dry plant.
The role involves planning and managing mine operations to meet raw mine feed and work-in-progress (WIP) requirements for the plant to run most efficiently and meet the demand flexibility our customers require.
Help and influence a written mining plan.
The supervisor will also interface with other departments (maintenance, resin loadout) to coordinate scheduling and operational support across the entire site.
The supervisor is also accountable for ensuring a safe work environment by enforcing safety protocols, conducting regular safety meetings, and leading by example.
They will actively promote a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
In addition, the supervisor plays a key role in building a positive, collaborative culture, encouraging teamwork, accountability, and open communication among all team members.
Essential Functions Manage daily operations to meet production requirements while maintaining quality standards.
Work with Maintenance Department to reduce downtime through process improvements.
Enter and approve work orders as needed for maintenance support and internal maintenance work.
Recommend or initiate personnel actions such as hires, promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary measures.
Generate reports as required by the Director of Operations.
Confer with management and subordinates to resolve personnel problems, complaints or grievances.
Counsel subordinates about work-related issues and assist them to correct job skill deficiencies.
Recommend capital improvements and other process improvements as needed.
Responsible for meeting department productivity and quality goals.
Read and analyze production schedules and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs.
Observe operators to ensure that they conform to production and safety standards.
Inspect materials, products, and equipment to detect defects or malfunctions as needed.
Inspect and monitor work areas, examine tools and equipment, and provide employee safety training to prevent, detect, and correct unsafe conditions or violations of procedures and safety rules.
Strictly enforce company safety policies and manage necessary safety documentation.
Perform work in accordance with all applicable State and Federal mining laws.
Maintain safe, neat, and orderly work areas in and around the facility.

Job Specification (Preferred knowledge, skills and abilities) Knowledge of mining and plant processes and procedures.
Excellent understanding of production processes and capability to troubleshoot operations.
Demonstrate ability to develop and train personnel in operations and safety procedures.
Proven leadership skills and team building skills, ability to build consensus, rally support around common goals, and to motivate groups and individuals.
Strong sense of responsibility and understanding of business implications of decisions.

Basic computer skills include MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Supervisory Responsibility: Position will oversee the Sand Supervisors and their crews (including the mine).
Minimum Qualifications Education: Associate degree or 5+ years of relevant work experience.
Certifications: None.
Physical: Ability to obtain a PCP Level 2 according to the Department of Labor standards.
Other: Must be able to communicate orally and in writing in the English language.
Required Experience: 5-10 years supervisory experience in production or equivalent.
