The Position Production and Project Engineer
Job Summary The Production and Project Engineer will assist the Site manager in leading the operation of the Ground Calcium Carbonates plant, including production planning and maintenance. He / she will strive to sustain the products quality, and to improve safely the efficiency and conditions of the plant with a particular focus on energy, towards minimum operating costs. He / she will ensure all activities in charge are in compliance with regulations and Imerys policies, in particular as they regard environment, health and safety, labour. He / she will provide to subordinates relevant operating procedures, instructions, and training for their missions, manage their performance and support their development. He / she will lead projects, likewise SAP implementation, in collaboration with Hub and BA support functions.
JOB SCOPE / DIMENSIONS Part of Performance Minerals EMEA Business Area, Italy Hub. PM EMEA industrial footprint : 80 sites in 24 countries - 3700 employees - €1.2b revenue. Gran Bianco is a dry milling plant producing 60kT / yr of dry GCC powder, in paper bags, big bags and bulk. The role is reporting to the Site manager of Gran Bianco. The role has potential for evolution : possible management of a team of 9 internal staff (including 2 supervisors) and 4 temporary workers.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES EHS : Ensure the implementation on site by employees and contractors of all Environment, Health and Safety applicable regulations and Imerys protocols and policies.Develop / update risks assessments and safe work methods.Maintain and improve safe work conditions (eliminate or control hazards).Address all observed / reported unsafe conditions and behaviours.Investigate root causes (RCA) and remediate all near misses / incidents / accidents.Lead by example in developing the safety culture in the organization.Manage safety actions to maintain the Gran Bianco operation free of accidents.Supervise and facilitate health, safety and environment reporting by using Imerys dedicated tools.People management : Communicate to subordinates clear objectives, priorities, work procedures and instructions.Leads daily shop floor production meetings.Manage employees performance, including through disciplinary process if required.Improve employees skills and competencies.Encourage employees commitment and motivation.Apply to self and employees the Imerys Code of ethics, and Diversity and Inclusion policy.Production & Continuous Improvement : Establish weekly production plan, to satisfy orders on time and manage stocks.Supervise production and providing appropriate instruction to the team.Establish and track key performance indicators (KPI) in the perimeter in charge.Ensure process efficiency such as crushing, milling, classification, and coating treatment.Fully understand and continuously improve the production processes by applying Lean Manufacturing methods and Industrial Continuous Improvement systems.Lead and roll out continuous improvement processes / methodologies to develop lines performance and trigger energy savings.Project Support : Find & investigate ideas to improve the efficiency of various processing units, or to support new products development, or to adapt the products mix demand.Provide data to analyse investment opportunities to expand capacity or improve yield and efficiency.Assist on the on-going projects : SAP implementation, energy saving projects, renewable energy projects.Keep updated the CAPEX tracker for the site.Data / Reporting : Feed SAP with needed Production Maintenance Quality information.Maintain accurate data / records / documentation as required.Responsible of all required reporting on his / her perimeter.Collaboration : Collaborate with Italy Hub & BA teams : EHS, Continuous Improvement I3, Purchasing, Centre of Excellence engineers, project managers, Supply Chain Teams, Sales & Marketing teams, financial controllers.Liaise with contractors / suppliers and other stakeholders of the plant.JOB SPECIFICATIONS Enthusiastic, hands-on engineer with a genuine interest in machines and team working.Engineering Degree preferably industrial, mechanical or process.Desirable 2 / 3 years experience in manufacturing / industrial / mining.Mandatory fluent Italian & English.Knowledge, skills, Imerys Leadership Behaviors.Ability to team working, and to evolve in a matrix organisation.Dedicated, open minded, flexible, multitasking.Analytical and problem-solving skills.IT Literacy (spreadsheet, data crunching, presentation).Ability to own Imerys Leadership values :Leads self.Leads others.Communicates and collaborates.Deliver results.Drive improvements.Position Type Full time
