**Function Overview**
Responsibilities: The Elanco External Manufacturing (EEM) Procurement team is responsible for sourcing goods and services in a way that adds value to the Elanco External Manufacturing organization.
EEM engages contract manufacturers (CMOs) and suppliers to manufacture, and package active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) and drug products for supply around the globe.
**Essential Job Functions**
EEM Procurement provides the sourcing support to allow EEM to carry out its
mission of robust, cost effective supply.
EEM Procurement is a critical function for EEM to meet its near term and long term strategies of near-term cost reductions and Overall CMO consolidation and long-term cost reductions/value creation.
The primary role of this position will be to support the EEM.
Support will consist of:
- Strategic Sourcing: Conduct strategic sourcing projects, requests for information/ proposals, negotiations and contracting and ongoing project management to ensure implementation and performance.
Work closely with EEM leadership and Elanco Manufacturing Strategy on best alternatives and options for CMO consolidation and value capture
- Relationship Management: He/ She will be involved in relationship management with existing EEM CMOs/suppliers to drive cost reductions/continuous improvement and assure the value targeted during negotiations is realized for the business.
Participate on the EEM joint supplier/CMO management teams.
Issue resolution with suppliers and contract manufacturers.
- Opportunity Assessment: Play a lead role in cost reduction and sourcing opportunity identification for EEM.
He/ She will conduct site visits to potential suppliers to do an initial screening to determine if they are capable of meeting Elanco requirements and quality standards.
- Own Procurement category: Develop and implement procurement category strategies to optimize business efficiency.
- Perform market intelligence: Develop and maintain expert knowledge of respective global supply markets, competitors and product innovations.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Business, Supply Chain, Procurement or Engineering
- At least 3 years of experience in Procurement with a large company (Pharma, Biotech or Complex Chemical preferred): sourcing, negotiations, contracting, ongoing supplier management
- At least 3 years of experience supporting a GMP manufacturing environment.

- Demonstrated business acumen; good analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to network and influence and drive organizational change even beyond area of direct responsibility.
- Strong communication skills—written, verbal and interpersonal.
High level proficiency in spoken/written English
- Leverages broad network (internally & externally) to maintain market knowledge & best practice awareness

- Excellent Communication/Interpersonal skills
**Location**: Flexible location in Europe
**Travel**: Overnight travel and international travel will be required (approx.
15% - 25%)
