About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled Safety and Process Safety Engineer to join our Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) team at our Milan office. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to provide technical leadership and expertise in developing, implementing, and maintaining a safe working environment in strict adherence to HSE regulations, standards, and best practices.
Main Responsibilities Lead and participate in risk assessments and process hazard analyses, including HAZID, HAZOPS, incident investigations, compliance reviews, and insurance surveys.Collaborate with Engineering and Operations teams to manage change, ensure the safety and compliance of new systems, and set requirements for safe startup processes.Conduct and coordinate on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and ensure safe work practices.Provide expert advice on compliance with corporate safety regulations and procedures.Perform behavior-based safety inspections and job site safety compliance inspections, including hazard analyses and safe work procedures.Develop and implement controls for identified hazards based on hazard analysis results.Support the interpretation and implementation of Process Engineering issues during process development.Review EHS requirements for Capital Expenditure Requests (CER).Collaborate with Global Engineering on the review and development of Engineering Standards and guidelines.Develop and review best practices for high-risk and critical reactions, support the review of internal and external engineering surveys, and review EHS assessments for new API molecules in the development stage.Ensure the availability and conversion of Process Safety Information (Safety Reports) for all stages of new product development into Basis Of Safety.Participate in Global EHS&S audits and EHS due diligence activities.Assist production sites with completing and reviewing Process Hazard Analysis of highly hazardous reactions.Your Background Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, or a related field.5+ years of experience in chemical or pharmaceutical manufacturing, with a focus on process safety management.Trained in Process Hazard Analysis facilitation and HAZOP methodologies.Recognized engineering specialist and subject matter expert (SME) in API processes and equipment.Experience in managing regional or multi-site API operations.Proven experience in Process Engineering with a focus on EHS by design and safe processes.Your Profile Ability to develop a clear and strategic vision in a complex work environment.Strong analytical skills with a systematic and structured approach to work.Strong business acumen and project management capabilities.Excellent communication and influencing skills to drive global initiatives.Effective collaboration and communication skills.Proficiency in English and Italian, both spoken and written.If you meet the requirements of this opportunity and would like to join an international group working to improve patients' lives, apply now!
