We have a very exciting opportunity at Evotec Modena, Medolla (MO) Italy, for a Research Scientist will be part of Process Development team.
This position will have a key role for the development of cell-based therapies production procedures effectively enabling GMP manufacturing
Essential Functions
- Cultivation and manipulation of induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs)
- Support the development and optimization of GMP-compatible processes for expansion, differentiation, and cryopreservation of different iPSC-derived cell types
- Generation of Knock-In and Knock-Out cell lines using CRISPR/Cas or other gene editing technologies
- Characterization of edited cells using different methods (e.g.
PCR, flow cytometry)
- Execution of cell culture process protocols, critical analysis of processes for improvement and scalability
- Develop and adhere to SOPs and workflows with proper documentation
- Participate in Technology Transfer from process development to manufacturing
- Examine data and preparing technical reports, summaries, protocols, and quantitative analysis and ensuring experiments are well documented
- General lab tasks including ordering, organizing, and instrument maintenance.
Education and Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Life Sciences or similar
- Substantial hands-on experience in human pluripotent stem cell culture and differentiation
- Knowledge and experience in gene editing technologies
- Experience of general cell manipulation and characterization techniques
- Experience with design and operation of bioreactors in various scales is a plus
- Positive, dynamic, team player and problem-solving attitude
- Accurate, with excellent prioritization and organization skills
- Good communication skills in English
