SUMMARY
Allegro High Voltage Business Unit is looking for a Principal System Engineer to join our Isolated Gate Drivers Product Line. The team develops isolated gate drivers that include an optimized power transfer system from primary to secondary. Focus application segments are vehicle electrification, solar energy, and datacenter infrastructure.
The successful candidate will have prior customer facing experience and will be comfortable in developing and communicating our products value proposition to internal and external customers.
Help creating collaterals supporting internal stakeholders, partners, and customer.
The role will also involve functional validation of new products as well as early design-in activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop application reference boards for different applications and end-markets utilizing Allegro Gate Drivers.
Hands-on lab bench evaluations, system and board level debugging, and prototype demonstrations.
Write datasheets, application notes and design notes. Contribution to articles and papers in magazines and conferences to promote Allegro's Gate Drivers.
Creation and maintenance of requirements and specifications documents.
Collaborate with Design/Test and Manufacturing to ensure products are designed to specifications.
Build validation plans and own their execution across multiple teams.
Join force with strategic marketing for product promotions and collateral generations (reference design, evaluation boards, white paper, application notes, software tools etc).
Collaborate with and train field application engineers, distributors to support customer designs.
Customer support through evaluation, design-in and ensuring design wins.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
BSEE (MSEE preferred) and a minimum of 8/10 year experience in Semiconductors for Power Management; Gate drivers / power switches (particularly wide-bandgap) and their applications expertise a definite plus.
Core electronics fundamentals and deep understanding of power conversion is mandatory.
Experience in PCB design/layout is plus.
Customer facing experience in a technical role is preferred.
Strong lab and circuit debugging skills; experience in defining demo systems a plus.
Experience with electrical and/or magnetic simulation tools is desirable (i.e. Simplis, Mathlab Simulink etc.)
Ability and willingness to travel both domestically and internationally.
Experience in working across corporate functions including sales, marketing, design, and product/Test engineering organizations.
Requires strong verbal and presentation skills, both in person and remotely. The successful candidate will possess a good balance of technical and business acumen, be comfortable multitasking in a dynamic environment, and have strong interpersonal skills.
The team is located over multiple locations, therefore a high English language proficiency is required (B2 English level and above), second language preferred.
