We are searching for Prin. Mechanical Design Engineer .
A Day in the Life
The Prin. Mechanical Design Engineer is an individual contributor with responsibility in our technical functions to advance existing technology or introduce new technology and therapies. Formulates, delivers and/or manages projects assigned and works with other stakeholders to achieve desired results. May act as a mentor to colleagues.
The majority of time is spent delivering R&D, systems or initiatives related to new technologies or therapies – from design to implementation - while adhering to policies, using specialized knowledge and skills.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
Leads the mechanical team (>10 members) within a R&D innovation project. Researches, plans, designs, verifies, validates and develops mechanical and/or electromechanical products and systems. Recommends various technology options or approaches for system, processes, facility or program improvements in terms of safety, performance, efficiency or costs. May be responsible for the transfer from R&D to manufacturing. Analysis and optimization of device and components performances. Must Have:
Min 10 years of experience in industrial mechanical design (min 5 years in team leading). Master's degree in mechanical engineering (PhD is a plus). Deep knowledge in mechanical design, GD&T and tolerance stack up. Deep knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic technologies (applied to biomedical devices is a plus). Deep knowledge on Design for Reliability & Manufacturability (Green Belt certification min. Black Belt certification is a plus). Deep knowledge of 3D modeling (PTC Creo). Deep knowledge of PLM systems (PTC Windchill). Knowledge of international standards (applied to biomedical devices). Nice to Have:
Knowledge of mechanical simulations (FEA ANSYS). Knowledge of NVH analysis tools (Matlab, LabView). Knowledge of biomedical R&D documentation. Design Control and Design Transfer expertise.
